Your tattoo was carefully applied by a professional to ensure a top quality tattoo. Treat it as such and follow the instructions correctly. Failure to do so may result in your tattoo getting infected or scabbing which may prolong the healing time and affect the final look of your tattoo.
1.Remove plastic wrap after 2 hours of getting your tattoo. For those who covered their tattoo with Saniderm (medical grade wrap) you can leave it on for up to 24 hours but no less than 2.
2.Gently wash your tattoo with clean hands. Use warm water and liquid antibacterial soap. DO NOT USE BAR SOAP.
3.Pat dry with clean paper towel, and air it out until it’s completely dry to the touch.
4.Apply a thin layer of lotion at a time. Apply lotion ONLY when tattoo feels dry. Do not over do it by applying too much lotion, this creates moisture which is not good for your tattoo. DO NOT use Vaseline, Neosporin, A&D ointment or any lotion with perfumes or dyes.
5.Repeat this process morning and night, or anytime your tattoo is exposed to dirt, soil, water or excessive sweat.
THE FIRST TWO WEEKS ARE CRUCIAL! Avoid swimming, soaking or suntanning for at least two weeks. This doesn’t mean you cannot shower. This means you can’t soak your tattoo for long periods of time. Do not pick or scratch your tattoo. Excessive sun exposure without sunscreen lotion over time will result in the fading of your tattoo.
6.A perfectly healed tattoo will just peel off, but if you get any scabs for any reason do not panic, it will take longer for those areas to heal, but your tattoo can still heal good as long as you dont pick off the scabbs.
7.For tattoos on areas with excessive bending (elbows, knees, neck, hands, feet, ankles and wrist) we cannot guarantee the quality of the tattoo, and any touchups on those areas will be at the customers expense.
Any deviance from this Tattoo Care method would mean that touchups needed on the tattoo are at your own expense, due to your own negligence.
Enjoy your tattoo!
